Squeeky is one of our little miracles that came to us via an urgent request for help in a facebook cat rescue group and we answered that call. Someone who knew someone found a kitten on the street in Brooklyn abandoned, and separated from her litter and mom. She must have been only a couple of days old or so... so tiny .. barely 3 oz but with a mighty will to live. We picked up the peanut and took her to our rescue, and the sleepless nights began. Feeding, checking on her all day all night to make sure she was warm, bottle feeding, helping her relieve herself as kittens at that age need help to do so.. it was a loooong long road. We didn't know if she would make it, but we had full faith that she would not go down without a fight and we would fight for her as long and as much as it took, and it payed off, and we are so proud of her. There were times that she just would not gain weight and that is ALWAYS concerning. She was too small for blood test and many other tests so we just kept feeding her and doing all we could... and she finally, after months of care blossomed into a GORGEOUS kitten who is incredibly well adjusted, gets along with other cats, affectionate, and just one of the best creatures ever met. Despite her success she stalled on her growth and maxed out at between 5-6 lbs, and at this point we assume the only way she will get bigger is if she gets over fed...we don't know why she is as small as she is, and perhaps her mom knew that she might have a slight genetic variation that will make her the smallest of them all... but never judge a cat's personality by it's size... this is one MIGHTY MIGHTY kitten. One of our all time favorites !!! We love "underdogs" and she is the poster-kitten for underdogs who defied ALL ODDS.
